The first big assignment for Dutch architect Piet Blom was the design for a temporary student restaurant in a former farm on the premise of the Technical University Twente. Shortly afterwards he was also responsible for the design of the permanent student restaurant called the ‘Bastille’. For this restaurant, he also designed these chairs. 2 of the 4 chairs still have the manufacturers tag (Huizenga).
